Networking brand TP-Link has revealed a new and powerful Wi-Fi 7 travel router with the latest generation of wireless technology, providing Wi-Fi 7 speeds up to 3.6Gbps. The TL-WR3602BE also includes built-in VPN apps for browsing privacy, as well as versatile operating modes to suit a range of uses when traveling.

TP-Link has designed its new mini wireless router with digital nomads, business travelers and remote workers in mind. The TL-WR3602BE is small enough to slip into a coat pocket or work bag and can be powered by almost any USB-C charger or power source.

Secure Wireless Connectivity

The new router offers a way to ensure secure wireless connectivity, even if you’re using a public Wi-Fi. The new router has dual-band speeds up to 2,882Mbps on the 5GHz band and 688Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. It can stream movies, effect rapid file transfers and handle smooth video calls from airports, hotels, cruise ships, Airbnbs, cafés and mobile workspaces.

The launch of the TL-WR3602BE is part of TP-Link’s mission to bring Wi-Fi 7 to more people at an affordable price by rolling out a series of networking products using the latest generation of Wi-Fi technology.

By offering Wi-Fi 7 in a compact and portable travel router, TP-Link says it’s making it easier for users to enjoy faster and more reliable Wi-Fi from almost anywhere. This is particularly useful now that most new smartphones and laptops are being sold with Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.

The compact TL-WR3602BE router provides the latest Wi-Fi 7 improvements, which include Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM and OFDMA. The mini router can deliver faster and more stable wireless connections, even when it’s being used in a congested environment.

VPN Built In

A pair of adjustable external antennas on the TL-WR3602BE can extend the wireless signal strength further. Meanwhile, a programmable hardware switch lets users toggle key features like VPN or guest mode with a single click.

Thanks to built-in support for OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols, users can use the TL-WR3602BE to connect with over 35 VPN services. Both NordVPN and Surfshark are integrated directly into the router’s interface, making it much easier to log in to a VPN and establish a secure and encrypted connection with minimal fuss. This is particularly welcome as censorship and internet safety legislation for the protection of children begins to impact all internet users.

The TL-WR3602BE has seven operating modes, including router, hotspot and smartphone tethering, which enables the router to be set up for almost any networking scenario. For example, you could use your smartphone as an internet source by switching the router into phone tethering mode.

Alternatively, you can securely connect your laptop, phone or tablet when you are using a public Wi-Fi hotspot. In Hotspot mode, you can set up a one-time captive portal authentication so that you only need to log into the hotspot once and all your devices are quarantined from the public hotspot.

The new router’s controls and settings can be easily changed and managed by using TP-Link’s Tether app or by using a web browser to access the interface that’s built into the TL-WR3602BE. There are two Ethernet ports onboard: a 2.5Gbps WAN and 1Gbps LAN. Users also get a USB 3.0 port for adding a memory stick or 5G modem.
